Why I am a Potter

Throwing clay as I am photographed here is my passion both due to the process but also with the ability it gives me to make work that people can use. The connection that my art will be used is as important as the making process.

This dance of making and seeing others use my work has made my brand so important to me. Each piece is hand-crafted by me through the beautiful process of producing ceramics. Each stage adds to the one before.

I studied Ceramics at Loughborough University, graduating in 1999 with a BA (Hons) in ceramics and then completed my Master of Arts in Ceramics at Cardiff Met in 2008. Both of these courses developed my skills and creative understanding.

In 2016, I finally decided that I had to make Ceramics my full-time career. With the support of The Sustainable Studio, Cardiff, I set up my business and have enjoyed finding my voice within this beautiful material.
