A Charming Gift: A Set of Two 150 ml Coffee Cups

These handmade coffee mugs hold 150 ml of your favourite coffee. They measure 7 cm wide and 6.3 cm high. The roomy handles, made in a complementary colour, give the cup its depth at 11.6 cm. The handle is 4.6 cm and perfect for any hand. They are a lovely cup to hold, whether using the handle or just nestled in your hand. This hand-crafted pottery has a refined, tactile surface reminiscent of a sandy stone beach. The fine rim makes drinking from this cup a pleasure.

The exterior surface is left unglazed, giving the colour of the cup a muted tone, like the beauty of a pebble on the seashore or a rock by a peaceful river. The transparent glazed interior heightens the coloured clay exterior. They reflect the colour of water or a changing sky. Each of the four complementary colours in which the cup comes has a story drawn from nature.

The Dark Grey Blue has an immersive blue interior and deep grey exterior. The internal and external surfaces are dotted with flecks of light and dark, and the contrasting handle cuts a pale streak across the cup, a flash of brightness in the night. The cool and gentle tones of the Pale Blue-Grey reflect how Spring moves us from pale Winter to gentle Spring days. The soothing grey exterior carries the first hints of blue sky; inside, the colour is intensified by the glaze and speckled with bursts of rich blue. The soft, neutral shades of the handle complement the overall placidity of the cup. The interior of the Sandy Beige colour is reminiscent of pale, dipping willow leaves. The handle, a soothing grey, arcs across the exterior like a river around the light sand of a slow bend. Finally, the Earth Brown reflects the colours of a rocky path; the interior glaze lights the darker exterior and highlights the speckled surface of the earth.

Since the cup was first made in 2018, it has kept its design from the first creation, as these two photographs below show. I have loved seeing customers post photos of these cups in use and enjoy sharing these in my stories on Instagram. As a maker, I am always excited to see my creation being enjoyed and used. It gives me such joy to know that the items I have sent out into the world are bringing pleasure to their owners.

This set of two ceramic coffee cups is fantastic as a gift for a country-loving coffee drinker. Their charming qualities create a beautiful moment for the user to take a break and use the cup as part of a mindful moment. Please pick up the cup and take time to experience its texture and the warm feeling of the coffee. See the cup's colour and form, breathe in the coffee's rich aroma, and notice the sounds in the distance, middle ground, and location. Then, taste the coffee, allowing the beautiful flavour to touch your taste buds. I hope this mindful exercise will increase the benefit of using your mug and bring the peace of the countryside into your home.
