My First Product - 300 ml Cup formally named The Happy Cup

My 300 ml cup was first created in 2017 and was quickly named the Happy Cup because it held more tea than my smaller 250 ml mug. So as a massive tea drinker, I didn’t have to make as many cups of tea as I had done with the smaller cup, so I was a happy tea drinker!

Hannah Timm took these first images in her kitchen in Barry. The dark wood of her kitchen surface was perfect for displaying my work. Over the next two years, the colours adapted as I settled on the ideal transparent glaze for my work and the form of the cup's body was refined to create an ergonomic shape.

As I attended monthly art fairs, I began talking to customers, particularly males who struggled to use handmade cups as they often had too small handles for them to use. As it is imperative to me that my work is user-friendly, I adapted my mugs and the larger handles were born!

From this feedback, my signature handles were created, and as I have had further feedback, I have developed the handles so they are thick to make them stronger. I love working with customers to build my work to make the designs user-friendly alongside being beautiful artwork.
