In September 2018, I launched my Wine Beaker. These had been designed based on my love for a glass of red wine and a good film. I loved sitting on the sofa with a vessel I could hold easily and enjoy like a favourite mug. I thought why not make some beakers out of ceramics? The Japanese had a tradition of making Saki beakers in ceramics and I thought what a wonderful tradition. So, I made 175 ml beakers and loved using them. I launched my new Wine Beaker for others to enjoy and loved telling customers the story of these stoneware tumblers.
These Ceramic Tumblers became top sellers both with my wholesale and retail customers. In 2021, I launched my new colours Meadow Green and Earth Brown, so I expanded my Wine Beaker range to include these new colours.
As in all good Ceramic Saki Sets, you need a vessel for the Saki to be poured from, and I researched and planned designs for this vessel. Last September, I launched my 600 ml large Jug, designed to complement my Wine Beakers. This Japandi-style jug is hand-made with oxide-coloured clay. Available in my three distinct colours: dark blue-grey and pale grey-blue, both with sandy beige handle and sandy beige, which has a dark blue-grey handle.
In September 2023, I launched my first gift sets. Water or Wine Gift Set has one 600 ml jug and six Wine Beakers. This set felt like fulfilling my dream of making a modern Saki Set. This drinking set is perfect for serving stimulating beverages such as homemade lemonade, infused water, or your favourite wine during summer gatherings or intimate dinners. Its versatile nature makes it effortlessly transition from casual lunches to formal celebrations, making it a cherished centrepiece in any dining setting.
I hope you will enjoy this versatile set, knowing its creative journey over these last five years.
